Our mission and purpose is to instruct youth in the skills of football and cheerleading; where they can play, have fun, and make friends through a safe environment that teaches the concept of teamwork, making healthy choices and learning skills that will take them throughout their life. -Established in 1969 -Over 1500 student-athletes participated in the tackle football, cheer and flag football league in 2014. -Hundreds of volunteers (no paid positions) -Website, www.bcpwfl.org– over 100,000 views since our new website launch in April 2014. -The BCPWFL has its own turf field in the heart of Boone County. The field not only has given parents the advantage of not traveling every weekend, but it also is a great venue for soccer leagues to use, and a place to hold other community events. •The field has a full functioning concession stand, a press box with speaker system and lights for night events. •The field hosts birthday parties, tournaments, carnival, Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk or Treat, Yard Sale, Movie Nights, Football and Cheer Camps. -We hold a successful cheer competition called Cheer Fest •The BCPWFL is an official NFL Flag Football league. •The BCPWFL focuses on the importance of safety by partnering with Commonwealth Orthopaedics. •The BCPWFL requires at least one coach on each team to be NFL Head’s Up certified Academic Encouragement •We give out five $500 scholarships to area high school seniors •Our goal is to encourage the athletes in our league to be outstanding students in the classroom •BCPWFL gives 50 – 100 scholarships to families in hardship. •Have a can food drive contest between all the teams and we collected 2,140 items for those in need. •Have a weekend in September that honors veterans and collects items to send to the troops. •Have a weekend in October that honors cancer survivors and raises money through special bows, socks and t-shirts- donated $2,405 to the I have Wings Foundation.
