„THE GREATEST DANGER IN TIMES OF TURBULENCE IS NOT THE TURBULENCE; IT IS TO ACT WITH YESTERDAY’S LOGIC“ – PETER F. DRUCKER Our armed forces work in an environment where conflicts are more complex and unpredictable than ever before. They are increasingly fought simultaneously across the land, air, sea, space, and cyber domains, in military next to traditionally civilian arenas. The pace of conflict continues to accelerate while strategic, operational and tactical levels are further compressed. Continuous improvements and interoperability are key to success in multinational operations. WE NEED TRANSFORMATIONAL CHANGE At Dutch modernisation program FOXTROT, we take action to meet the needs of an agile (land) force in terms of mobility, interoperability and security through common design, development, procurement, operation, maintenance, and in-service support. FOXTROT and her partners put ambition into action. Our men and women of the tactical edge fulfil challenging missions and need unconventional facilities, tools and training to make a difference. We challenge traditional defense development and procurement. We co-create with partners of all sizes, expand access to information, tools, knowledge and eliminate unnecessary constraints to always operate smarter. This change is not limited to how we fight the war; it also embraces change in our processes. So ultimately, we all benefit. BOLD PARTNERSHIPS TOWARDS DIGITAL INTEGRATION FOXTROT co-creates with partners of all sizes and manages Dutch collaboration in international partnerships. That includes intensive joint collaboration with other national MoD’s. The Federal Ministry of Defence of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of the Netherlands decided to organise the necessary transformation together. June 26th, 2019, the German and Netherlands Ministers of Defence signed the agreement to organise joint and combined digital integration through ‘TEN’ - Tactical Edge Networking.
