Oranga Tamariki--Ministry for Children, established on January 1, 2017, is a government administration organization based in Wellington, New Zealand. With 1791 employees, the ministry provides support for families, including Intensive Response for whanau Care and Protection, family group conferences, and social work programs. It also provides information sharing for providers and partners, as well as requirements for the Children's Act School-based social work programs.

Our belief is that in the right environment, with the right people surrounding and nurturing them, any child can and should flourish. We are dedicated to supporting any child in New Zealand whose wellbeing is at significant risk of harm now or in the future. We also work with young people who may have offended or are likely to offend. The journey to achieve oranga tamariki starts here and now.
