OSSAP is n organization that engaging orthopedic professionals across AndhraPradesh to develop leaders, strategies and resources to guide the future of Orthopaedic Care, Research & Education. The idea of forming a state chapter of Orthopaedic Association was mooted by Dr. C.Vyaghreswarudu and his colleagues. With the encouragement of Dr. B. Mukhopadhyaya the then president of I.O.A with the cooperation of all the Orthopaedic surgeons of the state Dr.C.Vyaghreswarudu was elemental in forming The AndhraPradesh Chapter of Indian Orthopaedic Association in the year 1968. OSSAP is an organization that values the competency of its leaders in all facets: personal, professional, civic, and academic. The OSSAP is committed to meeting the responsibilities of leadership through unselfish and responsible motivation. The Orthopaedic Surgeons Society of Andhra Pradesh (OSSAP) has more than 1400 active life members, and cohesively moving ahead with unifying focus on charitable endeavor by caring for patients, supporting surgeons through mentoring and transforming lives through unique research. Given the growing musculoskeletal disease burden, and the transformative impact orthopedic surgery can have for the right patients, we believe surgeons, students across the state should work together to advance science and art of orthopedics. Since inception(1968), the organization has evolved into a strong professional body and transformed many lives.
