Alane Roberts

My own parents are 87 and 88, and walking by their side through the aging process has been and continues to be an education in my chosen career, and in grace. My career in elder care services spans 15 years, and encompasses public relations work for an attorney with a focus in elder care, geriatric care management, guardianship services, and currently, placement services. These experiences led to the development of Grace Marketing Group, (now Grace Mangement Group) and now, my company, Assisted Living Locators of Houston. I am a continual student of my career, and standing at the bedside of my parents in illness and injury has deepened my understanding of the process of aging that my clients witness as they also accompany their own parents into their elder years. As a young college student, I heard the phrase, "Some things are better caught than taught."​ Education is only the starting point. Every senior has a story - and I learn from every placement we do. I am grateful to be continually learning about seniors as I come alongside adult children as an advocate, counselor, and friend. Gleaning from the families I serve is a rewarding and fulfilling experience. As a Certified Senior Advisor, I offer family services as well, guiding them through the decision making process. I speak often in the community about the process of aging, and options for care along the way. I also speak in faith based settings, and have spoken in women's groups locally and abroad.
