Annemarie McAvoy

Annemarie McAvoy is a nationally-recognized expert in financial crimes, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Cryptocurrency and Anti-Bribery and Corruption compliance, internal investigations, fraud detection and crisis management. Her broad background gives her unique expertise, having been a federal and state prosecutor, an in-house attorney at major global financial institutions, and having worked at a Big Four accounting firm. She is called upon by the media as an on-air legal expert, and teaches classes on financial crimes at Columbia’s graduate School of International and Public Affairs that address issues including AML and Sanctions, compliance programs, human trafficking and transnational organized crime. She also handles extraditions, criminal cases and divorce and custody issues, as well as appearing as an expert witness in legal cases.
