Barak Ben-Ezer

Barak Ben-Ezer is a serial entrepreneur and expert in fintech and blockchain.As the CEO and co-founder of SFB Technologies Inc., he has played a crucial role in the development of the Marshall Islands’ Sovereign (SOV) project, the first digital currency to be issued and backed by a government. The SOV, which aims to augment the US dollar as the primary currency of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, has pioneered the central bank digital currency (CBDC) space and attracted attention from around the world. Prior to founding SFB Technologies Inc., Barak was the CEO of Neema, a digital remittance company that was funded by Y Combinator and eventually acquired by the largest insurance company in Israel. Barak is also a respected thought leader in the field of fintech entrepreneurship and blockchain, interviewed and appeared on Real Vision Finance, WSJ and Bloomberg. Barak lectures on these topics at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
