Brian Degnan

Senior-level real estate private equity executive with nearly 20 years of experience across commercial real estate investment and development. At McKinney Properties, Brian is focused on the acquisition and development of Multifamily assets in major markets throughout the United States. His business experience spans leading teams on complex acquisitions and development projects, performing bottom up fundamental investment analysis, negotiating and closing complex transactions, managing risk for development companies and institutionalizing operations. Brian began his career as a commercial real estate lawyer, practicing at a large international firm and later serving as the general counsel of a development company with several billions of dollars of residential and industrial projects throughout the U.S.As Managing Director, Acquisitions & Development at McKinney Properties (a 4th generation investment firm with $1.3BN AUM), Brian is a partner and member of the Investment Committee. His role involves sourcing Multifamily real estate investments, analyzing and negotiating both acquisitions and ground-up development projects and building relationships with development teams, brokers, lenders and capital sources across the United States.Brian is also passionate about serving the pediatric cancer community and with his wife co-founded Zip With Us, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit charity that makes and donates zippered port shirts to kids fighting cancer around the country. Through ZWU, the team serves 60+ hospitals and has donated chemo shirts to more than 15,000 kids across the U.S. and beyond.
