About

Mr. Woodstra co-founded All Media Guide (AMG), an online entertainment information database, in 1993. At AMG, Mr. Woodstra managed a worldwide network of more than 1,000 freelance writers who compiled database information for all genres of music. AMG was acquired by Alliance Entertainment in 1996. At AMG, Woodstra headed the development of content and features for the company’s consumer websites, including allmusic.com, as well as a comprehensive entertainment and media metadata database covering music, movies and video games. This database was relicensed to music stores globally and used for CD recognition in media player software. AMG was spun out of Alliance Entertainment, which was in turn acquired by The Yucaipa Companies in 1999. As an operating manager, he grew the AMG business from a start-up to $23.3 million in revenue in 2007, the same year AMG was named one of PC Magazine's "Top 100 Classic Websites." AMG was acquired for $100 million in 2008 by Macrovision/Rovi, (now called Tivo), where he continued to operate the AMG business until 2015. He also oversaw the acquisition and integration of Muze Music. Woodstra earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Hope College.
