As Deputy Chief Operations Officer, at the Department of Transportation for the District of Columbia, I focus on improving our district by leading built environment initiatives that improve quality of life for our residents, and deliver financial savings through technology. I ensure our District operates efficiently by building a performance-driven culture and nurturing relationships with key decision makers across the government and private sector. I’m a project manager, team leader, business growth advocate, and proponent of automation through the adoption of emerging technology.Beginning my career as an Architectural Assistant and senior advisor, I served as Chief of Staff to the current the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, where I oversaw 10 City departments and directly advised Mayor Buttigieg in the development, implementation, and communication of all policy initiatives for the built environment.My early architectural career included leading a design team of 20 staff for some of the biggest masterplans in the UK at Porphyrios Associates in London, UK. I ensured streamlined project deliverables across diverse teams by organizing, facilitating, and participating in client and stakeholder meetings for urban projects including university campus projects. This experience honed my passion for the built environment and the impact on local and regional communities, eventually bringing these skills to the public sector.
