Salim Manzar

Salim Manzar is a global consultant focused on providing senior executives with expert advice in all aspects of mergers & acquisitions, foreign market entry, turn-around of troubled life insurances businesses, as well as advice in business strategy and financial matters. Salim served on the Board of Trustees of the Amana Mutual Funds Trust until March 2012; served on the Board of Trustees, and as acting Chairperson of the Audit Committee, of Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) until December 2020; and on the Audit Committee of the Board for Unity Productions Foundation (UPF), a California non-profit documentary film company. He also devotes significant time and energy in supporting various humanitarian causes and relief efforts in the USA and abroad.After a 30 year career with MetLife, Salim elected to retire early in 2004, at which time he was Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of MetLife's International Businesses. Salim also served as Member of the Executive Governance Board for MetLife International, Chairman of the Board for MetLife India, President-Commissioner for MetLife Indonesia, and Member of the Board for MetLife Mexico. In 3 years in this position, Salim was a key leader in tripling the top line, and quadrupling the bottom line, of MetLife International.Previously, as Global Head of Mergers & Acquisitions for MetLife, Salim was involved with the assessment of over 500 potential deals and completed over twenty transactions with an aggregate value in excess of ten billion dollars. These included acquisitions, divestitures & joint-ventures of insurance, money-management & financial services related companies in the USA, Canada, Latin & South America, Asia and Europe.Salim is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and has been Affiliate of the U. K. Institute of Actuaries. He received his MS degree from the University of Manitoba, Canada; and MSc & BSc degrees from the University of the Punjab, Pakistan.
