It all began with just a vision. In the year of 1981, Mr. GL Mirchandani and Mr. Vijay Mansukhani started a company called MIRC Electronics Limited with just a goal of manufacturing television sets and going beyond convention. The company with its unique advertising campaign captured the emerging Colour Television (CTV) market which was accentuated by the New Delhi Asian Games in 1982. The CTV‟s were not only the trend setters, but their design, aesthetics and Devil campaign became a signature for research and case studies at various business schools. With the change in the retail format & to leverage its distribution strength, new product categories were introduced like Washing machines (WM), Digital Video Disc (DVD) players, Air Conditioners (AC), Microwave ovens (MWO), Flat panel TVs, Mobile Handsets (MO) & more recently LED Lighting Our products are delivered to customers through distributors & dealers from our 35 warehouses located across the nation. We have also expanded our distribution system through the emerging Modern trade format. Innovation is in the DNA of the organization. Be it product innovation, starting from the first CTV with docketable remote control to I care in LED TV, Indian auto cook menu in the MWO, Pre-cool in AC, or the Brush in its WM it has introduced many „‟Firsts in the world features‟‟ across product categories. Today, ONIDA is one of the most recognized brand in home appliances in India.
