About
My PhD study was to investigate the shear strength and behavior of T-headed bars used as shear reinforcement in safety related nuclear facilities. I worked along side with other PhD students in preliminary research and preparing design documents, and I worked along side with material manufacturers and lab technicians to ensure the project to go smoothly. These valuable experiences taught me how to solve practical problems in a timely fashion, and how to communicate and work with others.Besides my PhD research, I took 16 design related courses at Purdue University. By understanding the design I believe I’m capable to learn quickly from experienced engineers and handle the design as well as forensic challenges well. During course study, I was familiar with major building codes (ACI 318, ACI 349, AISC 358, AISC 360, ASSHTO, ASCE 7-10, IBC-2012, and MSJC 11) and several design software (SAP, AutoCAD, and ETABS) and research software (Abaqus).I joined Gilsanz Murray Steficek (GMS) in NYC as an Engineer in July, 2015.
