As an executive within the B2B SaaS space for 10+ years I have developed and led with 3 core values. These values represent who I am at my core and how I show up every day regardless of what I'm working on or who I'm working with. 1. Trust Building and keeping trust with teammates and customers is paramount to successful leadership. In my time as a leader I've learned (sometimes the hard way) how to effectively communicate, partner, and build in ways to maintain trust through massive amounts of change and growth. As an executive leader trust must be foundational in everything you do: team/culture building, cross-functional partnership, customer support & outreach, and running your software with security and availability. I live my value of trust by being transparent with my team when things are good and when they're bad. I commit to keeping my promises and own it when I don't. It's the foundational principle that holds all relationships." -Stephen Covey 2. Relevance Every business and industry is constantly evolving and changing. Staying relevant with customers and team members requires tenacity and iteration. I believe when teams are enabled to stay relevant by embracing this opportunity through curiosity and learning, it results in happier people and a better product. Likewise, strategy must be crafted to push teams to remain relevant and out of their comfort zone so the status quo does not persist. "Change is inevitable, growth is optional." -John Maxwell 3. Heart Every person wants to play, have fun, and feel a sense of belonging. In my experience, leaders that recognize this and use it to their advantage are force multipliers. I've lived several examples of this, from hosting events such as team summits, organizing and participating in volunteer time off events, or just randomly grabbing lunch with someone to surprise them with a pat on the back. I have personally witnessed that when teams prioritize fun, play, and celebration within their cultures they are higher performing and more resilient in the long run than those that don't.
