About
I have worked extensively with international organizations and media for the last 13 years, including World Bank and USAID-funded programs. My high-level roles have included Regional Director, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, and Media and Communication Manager, Journalist, Fixer, Translator and I have extensive experience in advising, media outreach, research, journalism translation, interpretation, office/team management, and teaching. My education includes a BBA at University of NorthWest of USA, majoring in management, as well as my former education in translation, a high school Baccalaureate and some other short team professional’s trainings. My highest position was Regional Director of a French international Media NGO for four years, covering five provinces in Herat and managing about 20 staff (including three expat teacher staff). During this time, Herat’s dominant political figure Ismail Khan could not believe that I was leading advocacy on freedom of speech, human rights, freedom of expressions, women rights, and freedom of media in his dictatorial regime. He detained me for some days, but because of international support that we had, he eventually apologized and released me. I made the Aina office the biggest center for supporting media and democracy in the Southwest regions in 2002, 20003, 2004 and 2005 and my office became the best office among other Aina’s 7 offices across Afghanistan. Thank you for your time and consideration.
