Her work tenderizes dark times and uncomfortable moments with humor and farce. Her directing career began when a real-life event inspired her self-titled short "AmyDee," which chronicled her journey into the sport of boxing. She starred in and fought her first amateur fight for the film – keeping all of her teeth in the process – proving that as a director, she's ready to take all the punches and will do whatever it takes for the shot.A former child actor, Amy returned to acting after an unexpectedly inspiring conversation with Carmen Electra while working backstage at a men's underwear show at New York Fashion Week motivated her to do so. Carmen is still unaware of her impact which led Amy to study with the Moscow Art Theater, The American Repertory Theater, and the LABrynth Theater. A fan of life's ironic moments, Amy now uses her acting training and experience to direct grounded performances within unusual, unexpected circumstances and heightened worlds.Amy is a 2023 Blackmagic Collective Future Women of TV Directing Fellow, 2023 Yes And Laughter Lab Finalist, and Stowe TV Writers Lab Alum.
