A highly accomplished and results-driven leader with over 30 years of banking experience in conventional and Islamic banks including more than 8 years in key executive leadership roles, involved in all aspects of treasury and financial institutions business management, incl. liquidity management, foreign exchange, capital market, treasury sales activities, country limit management, liability diversification, funding arrangements, investments, risk mitigation, and asset and liability management.Throughout his career, he has served at several banking and non-banking boards and committees including Credit & Investment, Audit, Risk, Governance, Remuneration & Nomination and Executive Board Committees within banking and corporate entities.A leader by example with a hands-on approach on tackling issues with proven record of transforming business through initiatives and has strong market awareness and relationship management skills. Have had a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Western Oregon University, USA and completed the executive program of ‘Managing Strategically, Leading for Results’ from Harvard Business School. Having previously served on many occasions as the interim GCEO, currently he has been appointed as the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Finance House Group since October 2020, in addition to heading Group Treasury and Financial Institutions Department as the Group Chief Treasury Officer.In 2020, AbdulWahab played a key role during the COVID-19 pandemic, having full oversight and management of the Group’s liquidity and corporate banking business across locations. As the responsibility extended to ensuring clients, the bank and the group’s subsidiaries were consequently well capitalized and equipped to survive the crisis, as well as support the local economy from corporate to retail business.
