Adriel Silva

He is currently a PhD student in Genetics and Improvement at the Federal University of Viçosa, where he collaborates with the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and Assisted Selection (LGMSA) of Embrapa Soja on Soybean breeding (Genomics and Phenomics), digital image analysis, bioinformatics, molecular genetics, resistance improvement to soybean diseases, management of the Laboratory's germplasm bank, and the development of a Python program to assist in the evaluation of disease severity. He received his Master's degree from the same university, where he focused on common bean breeding. He holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná, with a part of his education completed at the University of Adelaide in Australia, with involvement in a vetch population genotyping research. Internship at ACPFG (Australian Centre for Plant Functional Genomics) undertaking wheat breeding operations using assisted selection. Intern with the Plant Breeding Institute, performing tests to characterize and select barley genotypes for resistance genes to different barley rusts. Tutored the "molecular biology and biotechnology" course. He was a scientific initiation fellow at Fundação Araucária and PUCPR, where he worked with Canola. Complementary administration technician training. Data analysis, Project and People Management skills.
