Afif Hamid

Afif Hamid is Senior Counsel in the Royal Bank of Canada Law Group. His practice primarily focuses on providing legal advice with respect to financial crimes, including issues involving anti-money laundering, anti-terrorist financing, anti-bribery / corruption and sanctions. Afif also supports the Banking Litigation team in Law Group. In private practice, he was a litigator who gained trial experience representing major international corporate clients in complex, large-scale commercial and IP litigation. He has appeared in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench, the New Brunswick Court of Queen's Bench, the Federal Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal. Afif has been involved in all stages of litigation, including successfully appealing a trial decision.
