Akosua Afrakoma Peprah

I am a product of two cultures: Ghana and the United States. I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work at Ohio University with a research interest in Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Drug Addiction with a focus on children, young adults, women, and girls in marginalized and rural communities. I have over 10 years of experience working in youth services/development, advocacy, and policy implementation both locally (The United States) and Internationally (Ghana, Niger, Mali, Uganda, Brussels, and Italy). I used to run my own nonprofit in Ghana with a vision of ensuring girls have equal and equitable access to education, with a focus on ending period poverty. In 2019, I was named one of the youngest leaders in the world by the European Union due to my outstanding work in advocacy for women and girls in Marginalized communities.
