I can usually beat them handily in terms of performance, speed of development, convenience for maintenance and support, and reliability. My latest area of interest - bi-temporal relational structures, which we started building a few years ago. Finally, DB2 10 for LUW is here and so are bi-temporal databases.Can't wait to replace home grown constructions by a clean database code.
