I drive the nutrition agenda for breakfast cereal category in AMEA region, advising new claim development with scientific substantiation. I provide proactive scientific support to projects including competitor overview, scientific overview, expert identification, social media research for the global research community. I am proficient in locating respective information sources and formulating scientific searches, and have coached colleagues from regional business units in scientific literature search. Supporting stakeholders primarily based in Europe and Asia Pacific regions also gives me global insight. My previous role as clinical research scientist involves management of company's clinical studies and scientific knowledge with focus on nutrition supplement, biomarker research and regulatory affairs. I am responsible for initiating clinical studies with protocol designing and budget estimation to support product health claims, and managing ongoing safety and efficacy studies. I serve as the point of contact between the company, study sites and stakeholders. I provide scientific knowledge catering to the need on patent information, health claim regulatory requirements, and technical enquiries from customers. To promote product market awareness, I perform literature search, develop scientific reports, product brochures and trade show posters, and maintain company’s technical website. My PhD research focused on biomarker discovery and functional study in gastric cancer metastasis with quantitative proteomics. With iTRAQ multiplex labelling of whole cell proteomes, the differentially expressed proteins were identified. Gene knock-down and over-expression coupled to cell assays were performed for function study. Immunohistochemical analysis of tumor tissues was performed in collaboration with the Pathology Department in Singapore General Hospital.
