I have served as a class representative for 2013-2014 at the Graduate School of Manageent at Plymouth University. In this capacity, I served as liaison between academic staff and student members and have demonstrated an innovative ability in bringing them together in a professional and organised manner. As a clinical pharmacist and procurement manager, I have good knowledge of medicinal products, procurement process to achieve corporate business objectives. With increasing budgetary pressures about comparative costs of medicines, generic medicines, parallel importers, pharmacist in particular with procurement knowledge are demanded for queries about pharmacy supply chain integration to reduce cost and improve service efficiency to customers. The market for generic medicines is approximately 3.5 bn and over the counter medicines costs 2.2 bn per year in Norway. So a small percentage discount through strategic sourcing & contract negotiation can potentially lead to significant savings for any pharmacy supply chain. There is a need for clinical pharmacist to add "cost efficiency" skills to create a value chain for the customer. Procurement practices have always had the potential to impact on the work of pharmacist since they affect the supply of medicines to pharmacies, customers, wards and patients. Pharmacy corporations managers are now seeing procurement in particular, as a key practice in their armoury to source potential suppliers, and integrate them in their supply chain for improving service efficiency and creating value for customers. I have a long working experience with healthcare professionals in the pharmacies and hospitals in the UK and Norway. This ability to work in different countries and adapt professional course to align with shifting needs on the ground is a valuable traits and demostration of flexibility. It is this in-depth knowledge of medicinal products, customers and suppliers that I will bring to the existing business portfolio.
