Dementia and Creativity I have worked widely in the field of dementia in the elderly and run art and massage workshops to enable participants to connect to that creative part within that is often locked away. I deliver talks on the role of a carer, creative participation and in London, Montserrat & Barbados Workshops As a carer to a mother who has dementia, I have seen and experienced first hand the how hard it can be for families to cope and also to try and have some normality in your life. I run workshops specifically aimed at social workers and those who work in the care setting to enable them to understand the role of carers and the impact that dementia can have on their lives. I use a range of creative exercises within the sessions I also run workshops and online training specifically aimed at carers and those who work in the field to enable them to use creativity and creative reminiscence within their daily lives, and to bring about change in the way they respond to their situation enabling them to have creative strategies in dealing with their caring role.
