Considering this as an opportunity to showcase my skills and talents as Interior Designer, educator, and Environment and Human Behavior Researcher, I take this liberty to highlight my 11 years of extensive work, and educational background in Home Economics and interior designing, along with 3 years of higher education teaching experience in CIDA accredited interior design institution. I am currently doing Ph.D. In Interior Design (Planning, Design, and Construction), with the research interest in 'Understanding the Role of Classroom Design and Teaching Methodology on Student Engagement in the Post-Secondary Institution' Born out of the interest to improve student engagement through the instructional design process, I genuinely anticipate a need to understand how and why physical design such as furniture layout, and teaching pedagogies impact student success in learning environments in higher education. After the interdisciplinary nature of my current research uniting two significant strands of inquiry: Design and Education, I further plan to expand my research focus to different aspects of environmental psychology in relation to educational development, assessment and evaluation, leading to community improvement. By the same token, my graduate studies on instructional design, environment and human behavior, research methods with the major in interior design have helped me identify design, environmental and educational problems, and ways to derive and implement sustainable design and instructional solutions. My strong background of housing, home management and interior design, art & design, clothing and textiles, food and nutrition, human development and family studies, environment and human behavior as graduate studies in College of Home Economics, Pakistan, and doctoral studies in USA have made me multi-talented interior design education, and research.
