As a bi-cultural, bi- lingual nurse, diversity, equity and inclusion leader, I have the opportunity to communicate effectively to more than one population- broadening my patient care cliental. I have been a member of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) Phoenix Chapter for many years which has provided me the opportunity to network with many great professionals in healthcare, and serve on their Board of Directors. Providing mentor ship to new and oncoming board members has been the newest, exciting experience. In one of my previous roles,President (chair) of D&I committee. I lead and offered support to the organization, developed the first Diversity in the Workplace: Understanding and Breaking Barriers professional panel, along with advocating for inclusive change in the workplace - remotely due to COVID-19. The goal always being- to offer a more diverse and inclusive employee and patient experience while supporting health promotion and disease management. In March 2021, I founded Finding Tu Chispa Consulting, LLC (FTCC) a firm that values the differences we all see. We are committed to creating a safe space where there is opportunity for growth and understanding to take control of your health by lighting the chispa in you! In June 2021, I joined Talkish beauty bar and mobile, concierge medspa. We focus on helping women be confident about their beauty and whatever form that may be, while promoting health and wellness. We make medical aesthetics affordable for all! My newest venture is with Dysart Unified school district, as their only CNA instructor for the districts' high school seniors (approx. 20-40 students), interested in nursing and/or healthcare. My goal is to help these future nurses learn to be patient, kind and respectful to their patients while promtoing the patients autonomy, per their ordered treatmemt plan.
