I am a Welder/Fabricator and have worked in Engineering for about 20 years and have gained a lot of experience during this time. Over the years I have gained much experience in TIG and MIG welding, using different grades of steel and aluminium with a few exotics such as Invar, titanium, copper and Inconel gauging between 0.4mm to 70 mm. I also have experience in MIG welding stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium. I have experience with overhead cranes turning vessels up to 2 tons, work well in a team or on my own and am able to work from technical drawings. I have experience in fabricating and welding vacuum vessels, pressure vessels; pipe work of all sizes and thicknesses and small components using TIG. I also have experience using an autogenous orbital welder. Due to the type of work I have worked on I have had to gain many coding’s with different joint configurations including full and partial penetration on fillet butt and pipe, both in aluminium and steels. The majority of pipe work and chambers I have worked on over the years have been NDT tested in the form of X-rays, pressure testing, Di pen and vacuum testing. During my career I have worked on many projects for the scientific sector including many prototypes, to companies such as Cern, LIGO, STFC, FMB Oxford, FMB Berlin, Observatories and Colleges. Due to the nature of some of the projects the welding had to be completed in a clean room environment. I see myself as a conscientious, punctual and tidy workman and quick to learn new skills.
