I am madly in love with and married to Erika Stebbing. I joined FEMA in December 2019 as a Program Delivery Manager of Grants and a Disaster Survivor Assistant then promoted to Security Manager after being awarded my Tier 4. I retired from FEMA June 30th 2022. We now own Lincoln Home Watch and Concierge. I also substitute teach for Lincoln Public Schools. I was the Lancaster County Treasurer in Lincoln, Nebraska, from 2011 to 2019. We added two additional locations, we became ADA compliant, built a new computer system for $250 k, not over one million like estimated. We reduced sick leave by 75 percent and wrote a policy book. We saved $5 million over 8 years, and held the line on a $3.5 million budget. The "waiting in line at the DMV" completely disappeared. We added efficiency while reducing staff by 5. We became user friendly and easy to work with. I was nominated for a prestigious national award due to our team making a huge difference. I ran for Mayor of Lincoln in 2014. We raised $350 K and lost by a couple of thousand votes. Thank you everyone that supported me and could see that changes were needed. Before being elected as the County Treasurer, (thank you for that), I served with the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office for 20 years and five years for the Norfolk Police Department. Most of that time as a Supervisor. I was involved and in charge of many areas like head firearms instructor, pursuit driving and was the fitness and health instructor. I oversaw the hiring committee for 5 years, and was the FEMA Coordinator for the Hallam Tornado Disaster. I was Division Payroll Manager and Vice President of the Union. I was the clandestine meth lab supervisor. I received the Officer Excellence Award, Officer of the Year Awards, among others. Erika and I travel frequently and enjoy side ventures. We own Lincoln Home Watch and Concierge. We conduct Vacation Checks on your house or business while you are out of town.
