I’m working as System Software Development engineer with Intel Technology India Pvt Ltd. My work mostly involves developing data plane network stack using DPDK, VPP, P4 and hardware accelerators. I've expertise in architecting and developing high performance and low latency network stack on general purpose CPU and programmable switches/NICs. Application-level optimization techniques include optimal use of iCache/dCache, flow cache, branch predication hints, prefetching, core scaling, hardware offload etc. System level optimization includes choosing right bios and OS parameters depending on latency and performance requirements. P4 path finding project gave me experience of working on programmable targets e.g., Tofino ASIC, Intel FPGA/PAC smartNICs, Intel IPU. I’ve been instrumental in developing P4 based network stack to realize order of magnitudes faster and lower latency goals. I’ve an exposure of deploying docker images in VMware Tanzu Kubernetes cluster virtualized environment. Network functions are deployed on photon based virtual machines and uses hardware accelerators over SRIOV. NFs communication is enabled using vSwitches and PortGroups on ESXi hypervisor.
