I lead and drive Manufacturing Development in Product Supply API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) in Novo Nordisk Manufacturing in Kalundborg and Clayton, North Carolina, US. With more than 25 years of management and leadership experience within the pharmaceutical industry, I drive the development and process improvement of both current and future API production facilities. I have leadership experience from various areas in both production and development. Throughout my career, I have been involved in complicated projects including major investment projects, helped build the world’s largest insulin production plant, and have managed 300+ people. Today, we are 3,500 employees at Novo Nordisk Kalundborg, who produce half of the world’s insulin, and a number of biopharmaceutical products. The manufacturing facilities in Kalundborg are expanding. Novo Nordisk is investing 18 BN DKK in establishing four new manufacturing facilities and expansion of three existing facilities in Kalundborg. This will establish additional capacity across the entire value chain from manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients to assembly and packaging. The new facilities include state-of-the-art production technologies, which will be bridged with our more than 50 years of experience in biomanufacturing.
