About

Have you ever noticed how many palm trees survive hurricanes? A city or town may be torn to splinters, but the palm tree stands tall. How do they achieve such a feat? Palm trees aren’t like other trees; made with hard wood, ready to snap in the wind. Instead they naturally flex and bend to withstand the storm. This is nature’s example of resiliency. There are many brilliant subject matter experts out there who will tell you about their experience. While this important, I believe it’s more important for you to know WHY I have followed this career path. After Hurricane Andrew destroyed my hometown southwest of Miami, FL in 1992, I knew I wanted to be the answer and not a bystander. Not only did I want to learn how to be a palm tree, I wanted to use this knowledge of preparedness and resiliency to help communities do the same. In 2003, I began my career in Emergency Management. Since then, I have had the privilege to be a part the solution after responding to thirteen major disasters and three mass casualty accidents, while helping countless entities build and strengthen their preparedness programs. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leader in the emergency management industry, with 20 years of experience.
