I am heading Purchasing in VE Power Train -VE Commercial vehicles Ltd Pithampur ( a Volvo Group and Eicher Motors ltd JV) as Deputy General Manager in their prestigious medium Duty Engine division with Euro 6 technology. This was a green field project, where in, the Euro 6 version long block is exported back to Volvo group world wide. This plant is now up and running and started production from July 2013. I was involved since inception of the project in 2009 and was the first pick in purchasing and contributing right from the pre study to Launch gate and developed world class suppliers for this project in India with the responsibility of Sourcing/ project/ operations spanning last 4 years.I have joined Eicher Group in Nov 1990 as Engineer in purchasing in Eicher Motors ltd trucks and Bus division and for the last 18 years handled vendor development and procurement of various commodities such as casting, forging, machining, rubber, gears, fasteners and Mechanical Proprietary technologies across vehicles parts( engine, axle, transmission, chassis) , export of components, e sourcing and full value functions in various capacities before moving to VE Power train (Eicher-Volvo JV) in 2009.I started my career with Elecon engineering co ltd Chennai in 1985. For 4.5 years handled heavy fabrication and machining parts as a planning and subcontracting engineer.Education: Mechanical engineering Degree and Diploma, Diploma in Materials Management, My education and the rich experience made me a good techno commercial expert.I am very committed to passing my domain knowledge to the younger fraternity and developed myself as good coach.
