With full HPC accreditation and IBMS licentiateship my role here has given me considerable experience. I am involved in teaching junior scientists, communicating with service users, working on my own or leading a team in ensuring quality results are generated in a timely manner. Much of my daily duties consists of data interpretation, including generating standard curves, and investigating trends or biases. My role in the laboratory is highly diverse and requires me to perform (amongst other things) allergy screening, community drug testing, macromolecular analysis, and paraprotein investigation. I have also gained great proficiency in running a variety of analysers as well as performing more specialised techniques including gas chromatography and mass spectroscopy. Highly competent with windows office suite, hospital IT systems and LIMS, I am comfortable with technology and more than able to keep up to date in an increasingly computerised world.
