Barbara-anne Stenson

I am an international development practitioner specialising in community development, child protection and gender based violence, including human trafficking. I manage Tearfund’s Protect programme across five countries – Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and Fiji working alongside local organisations to enhance programme quality and support monitoring and evaluation of programme outcomes. I have undergraduate degrees in Law and Politics and a Masters in International Development. I have worked for New Zealand Ministry of Social Development in health and disability, employment services, family violence, child protection, and project management. I have also worked as a community youth worker in youth employment and training, youth justice and supporting vulnerable youth. I am driven to tackle complex social issues through solutions involving long term systemic change, creating inclusive communities where all people can flourish and reach their full potential.
