I am also an FAA licensed Rotor-wing, Helicopter Commercial Pilot & Helicopter Certified Flight Instructor with Single-engine-land Private Pilot. Approximately 400 hours total time built so far, and a turbine check out. My special interest is in public service flight career paths due to 30 years of fire & police experience. I am also extremely interested in safe flying within utility, and other customer centered aviation services. My most recent pilot experience is as a freelance pilot for ferry flights, STEM helicopter discovery events, and private non-commercial tours. I maintain relevant contact with the aviation industry through service on committees and coursework at HAI, such as the elected Secretary of the Government Services Committee from 2008-2016, 2018 - 2020, and annual public aircraft operations training courses. I currently serve as a municipal Fire Captain and EMT in a high call volume region. My crew and I respond to all manner of 911 calls including medicine, trauma, and SAR calls in addition to structure fires, transportation fires, industrial inspections, and urban interface fire suppression. The customer service and leadership component of my career emphasizes a fluid & positive teamwork culture and maintaining the dignity of all people we interact with, regardless of their situation. I have been an outgoing and DEI aware member in the fire service since April of 1992, and career since February of 1996. Commissioned as a peace officer; Patrol thru Investigator in various capacities between September of 1993 and 2014 for enforcement of general laws, codes, and NFPA 1033/921 qualified fire/explosion investigation, Instruction and cooperative inter-agency teams.
