When I was 18, I embarked on a journey to become an international student in a foreign country which spoke a totally strange language. It was a journey filled with frustration at first (quitting probably flashed through my mind a thousand times). Yet I guessed inside I was a fighter. I knew I would regret if I held back. I stepped out, insisting on my own decision. From a student who needed extra help from professor to a student good enough to receive honors and awards, I faced my challenges and overcame them, one by one. After graduating with a master’s degree in management, I realized that I wanted to be in a place where I could learn, practice and excel. E-commerce stood out to be the best choice and Shopee, as the top e-commerce platform in Taiwan and South East Asia, had a special vibe. It moved like a startup, with little structures and procedures, but flourished and grew like a giant. I helped both the platform and sellers to achieve their goals by identifying the trend of the market and the preference of our users. I maintained and improved the relationship between sellers and Shopee by providing customer insight I got from data analysis. As a category manager, I oversaw and stimulated the growth of the entire category. Currently, I am open to opportunities in gaming, technology, or start-ups in marketing, account management and data analysis.
