Despite the constant onslaught of hate, fear, and evil we've come to expect, I am a perpetual optimist. We're in this together and can make this planet a better place for future generations.I've become increasingly interested in cognitive science. A solid understanding of psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, and anthropology is essential for effective communication, change management, systems design, team management, relationship building, and so much more.I've never been a specialist and enjoy the challenges of being a generalist. I know a fair amount about computers, networks, telecommunications, cybersecurity, software development, and an ever-growing list of related and unrelated subjects. You might call me a polymath... or just easily distracted.Failings aside, I've successfully leveraged my unique skill set across multiple industries. That may be because I often get along with others or have more successes than failures. I also like spending 'other people's money' as much as the next guy, but I've found that I can often get the job done while spending much less than some.Finally, I am very tolerant of people's beliefs. We all have different experiences and challenges. How we internalize this is a deeply personal choice that can not be infringed upon. The only exception to my tolerance is when someone seeks to enforce their belief(s) on me and others through broad social, religious, or governmental control. For clarity, I define a belief as any idea held to be true without empirical evidence or an otherwise demonstrable basis on the natural world or the human experience.
