My name is Benjamin Fleet and I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Franklin College with a concentration in Ecology and Conservation. I spent ten weeks in Hawaii at Big Island Farms learning sustainable agriculture practices, as well as agroforestry concepts. After graduation, I worked as a Natural Resource Technician for The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art and Nature Park at Newfields from May until November of 2019. During this time, my application to the Peace Corps was accepted and I was invited to be a Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator in Jamaica. I left for Jamaica at the beginning of March 2020. I was only able to spend one week there, as COVID-19 forced the evacuations of all Peace Corps Volunteers. After returning, I started back at Newfields for the 2020 season. I then moved out to Laramie, WY, where I am working for TigerTree Land Management as a tree worker.
