Berran Yucesoy

My major research interests are toxicology, immunotoxicology and occupational toxicology. I also have a deep understanding of population genetics, molecular epidemiology, statistics and risk assessment. I have been interested in studying the impact of occupational/environmental exposures on health and the interaction between such exposures and host factors in producing diseases. I have over 20 years’ experience in designing, implementing, and coordinating human research studies focused on occupational and environmental exposures. Currently, I am directing a research laboratory at CDC/NIOSH/HELD. In collaboration with other institutions and universities, I provided leadership in the development of a multidisciplinary research program to investigate genetic basis of occupational diseases. The projects under this program have been excellent models for examining gene-environmental interactions for occupational diseases.
