Betsy Edmonds

My educational background is in Architecture and City Planning, with a special interest in Historic Preservation, Classical architecture, and architectural design with historic context. I grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, in a beautiful little town on the Chesapeake Bay called Onancock. Onancock could be the prototype for every new urbanist community because it is full of historic homes, a beautiful wharf, and a downtown full of chic little shops, galleries, and restaurants. My love for classical and historic architecture was influenced of course by my alma mater, the University of Virginia, home of Thomas Jefferson. While studying city planning, I also learned how to draw and paint while on a study program in Vicenza, Italy with the University of Virginia. It was there that I fell in love with architecture, and with drawing. During my career in architecture I have worked on churches, clubhouses, assisted living, multi-family, production, and high end residental project types. My specialty is residental architecture. I enjoy using all the tools like Revit and Autocad, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketchup. I have a wide range of skills from presentation, to writing, and graphic design.
