Bill Ellard

Bill is a hedge fund manager and energy economist specializing in renewable energy, energy, new energy economy, and technology sectors. For over 10 years, we have managed a diverse equity fund using the wheel options strategy. Also, for 10 years, Bill has worked with utilities, municipalities, and commercial clients in planning for the new energy economy.In 2008, Mr. Ellard combined his expertise in these areas to start Energy Solutions Partners (ESP) with a mission to provide energy and sustainability consulting services to utilities and municipalities, exploring opportunities in renewable energy, energy efficiency, demand-side management, distributed generation, microgrid development strategies, and utility software architecture. Mr. Ellard helped design Utah’s first solar garden concept. Bill also developed 10 year 100% renewable plans for municipalities. In 2013 Mr. Ellard helped start a new firm, TimeSeriesGroup Americas, a new Big Data software startup focused on energy efficiency, grid management, renewables, meter data management, and big data open-source software solutions.Mr. Ellard’s past professional career includes roles as a utilities architect, capital asset portfolio manager, financial analyst, manager of a $1 billion tax advantage leased asset fund, statistics teacher, IT director, and a financial consultant managing projects for clients such as IBM, AT&T, Lucent, Hewlett Packard, Sun Microsystems, Source Gas, Universal Studios, and GE.Mr. Ellard has been a member of Colorado Waterwise, the energy economist for the American Solar Energy Society, and part of the solar and natural gas working groups for the city of Boulder Colorado.
