Bill Sechen

As a technology and operations executive, my background spans privately held firms, global companies, and Fortune 500 organizations. I’ve worked in industries with a large amount of complexity due to deal structures, regulatory requirements, and multinational locations. While I always resolve high-priority problems immediately, my ultimate goal is to provide proactive solutions instead of reactive chaos. As head of IT for Harrison Street, I was brought in to establish a technology function. My initiatives have reduced risk, improved customer service, increased efficiency, and optimized technology solutions to address key business problems. Previously, I lead technology strategy for IES Abroad. I directed multiple teams in implementing IT systems and operational processes across 38 global locations. My early roles with Computer Sciences Corporation and Motorola included providing messaging capacity planning and capital expenditure planning for major companies. ============== Key strengths include: IT LEADERSHIP I focus on creating collaborative and productive relationships with business partners in order to develop and execute technology strategies to support business objectives. These include strengthening cybersecurity, launching custom applications, transitioning manual processes to automated systems, and overseeing M&A activities. CHANGE MANAGEMENT My focus on elevating struggling teams and restructuring operations has led to improvements in profits, process efficiencies, customer service, and morale. When managing organizational change, I take a holistic approach focusing on people, process, and technology. OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP Re-engineering processes and procedures has been a key component in each of my positions. I’ve also faced the added challenge of maintaining compliance with external and international regulations requiring me to develop and operationalize programs for audit, continuous improvement, and maintaining operational excellence.
