My name is Billy Gilmai. I'm 43 years old and a professional Equipment Fitter with extensive technical field experience in many mines in Papua New Guinea for over 28 years. Educational back grounds are as follows;. 1. Primary education - grades 1 to 6 in SinaSina Chimbu ( 1983_ 1988.) 2. Secondary Education - Grades 7 to 10 in Muaina Secondary (1989 _ 1992) 3. Tertiary education _ Madang Technical College ( PETT Certificate in Mechanical) 4. Served post apprenticeship with Cummins Diesel PNG LTD in dealing with Heavy Duty Mechanical repairs in wide range of eguipment. 5. Attended trade training block courses in Port Moresby Technical College and had attained NATTB certified Tradesman Certificate in 2002. From then on, I have been employed by many prominent transport companies including other major mining industries around Papua New Guinea dealing with wide range of Heavy Equipment repairs.I also had extensive mechanical field experience in drilling and blastings in open mine pits in Papua New Guinea. Further more, I am good at trouble shooting hydraulic and neumatic system faults,make informed decision to carry maintenance and avoid down time extention for the benefit of productivity. The recent employment was with Barrick Niugini Limited (Porgera Joint Venture in Drills and Shovels maintenance section and mainly handling all range of Caterpillar equipment and also RH 200 and RH 140 series, Atlas Copco production drills with Cummins engines and other associated accessories of mine operational equipment. Due to mine shut down and subsequent Government refusal to extend ( SML) special mining Lease,all mining employees were redundant on July 26th 2020. As a result,I am now available for an opportunity to give my best shot,in terms of mechanical arena. Current employment is with St Barbara as a leading hand and most senior Heavy Equipment Fitter at Simberi open pit operations from 09/03/2021 to date.
