Bin Ruan

Bin Ruan received her Ed.D. in Leisure, Youth, and Human Services and M.A. in Community Leisure Services at University of Northern Iowa. She has been the recipient of many distinguished awards and scholarships, athletic and academic, including: the scholarship athlete in heptathlon, representing the Inner Mongolia University Affiliated High School; scholarship athlete representing Beijing Normal University; and finishing 4th at the Asian Women Triathlon Championship. Bin was teaching P.E. in Beijing No. 65 Middle School for eight year. Bin is also a certified American Council on Exercise (ACE) group fitness instructor and certified Zumba fitness instructor with more than 10 years experience teaching fitness classes in both China and the USA. In addition to pursuing her doctorate, Bin assumes a full teaching schedule of aerobic fitness and conditioning classes at the University of Northern Iowa, USA. Her research interests focus on leisure management and programming, assessment of student learning outcomes in higher education, and fitness and health promotion.
