I am a self-taught web developer. Web application development is my passion, a hobby and my job. I first got introduced to the internet in 1993 and have been hooked since! Back in 2003, I started my own web development and online marketing consultancy called Black Alsatian. Since then I've been developing web applications using languages like JavaScript, PHP and SQL. I have worked with a variety of technologies since those early days including ReactJS, Next.js, GatsbyJS, NodeJS, Laravel, WordPress, Joomla, MySQL, MongoDB, REST API, GraphQL and various others. In the early years, I primarily focused on open source PHP frameworks like, WordPress and Joomla CMSs. In later years, keeping up with the fast pace at which the web keeps evolving, I have shifted focus to building custom full stack applications. My speciality right now is building Progressive Web Apps in JavaScript, online administration systems (mostly PHP and MySQL mixed with JavaScript) and APIs (PHP, NodeJS, GraphQL). Most recently, I have been playing with "headless WordPress" sites for managing content with decoupled Progressive Web Apps for frontend concerns and custom administration systems for managing and processing user input. I am a problem solver. Most of my career I have had to learn new skills on the fly, as the job requires. Learning is a big part of my job. I am always tinkering and have numerous online "side hustles" I work on in-between client work. I’m constantly on the lookout for new opportunities, ventures and partnerships.
