I have been working in Fleet Services for 17 years with the City of San Diego. I started as a Motive Service Technician. I accepted an oppertunity to go through the Apprenticeship program with the City to become an Equipment Repair Mechanic. I attended the Diesel Technology program at Miramar College an graduated with highest honors. I worked as a mechanic on the heavy duty fleet for 7+ years before being promoted to Service Writer. 10 months later I promoted to Equipment Repair Supervisor assigned to the heavy Fire Fleet. I held that title for 3 years and was then promoted to Fleet Repair Supervisor Assinged to the heavy Fire fleet, City wide road call including Fire and Refuse Collection vehicles, and support for the Refuse Collection fleet.
