Brad Shuck

Dr. Brad Shuck is Co-Founder at OrgVitals and Professor of Human Resource and Organizational Development Program at the University of Louisville (Louisville, KY). His research focuses on core experiences of work including how employees experience engagement in the workplace, compassionate leadership, and organizational development. Shuck holds four US Copyrights and has more than 300-published works and creative artifacts of his scholarship. Shuck was named the 2016 Early Career Scholar by the Academy of Human Resource Development and has received several additional awards for his applied research, including the AHRD Excellence in Scholarly Practice (2016), the Child-Life Council Research-to-Practice Award (2015), the E F Holton III Outstanding Article of the Year (2013 and 2015), the Advances in Developing Human Resources Outstanding Issue of the Year (2011), and in 2021 was named the AHRD Outstanding HRD Scholar and a Trailblazer for the 2021 EPI-Innovator Awards. Shuck was the first academic to successfully commercialize research-driven intellectual property in the history of College of Education and Human Development (UofL). In addition to his research routinely appearing in top-tier journals like Human Resource Development Quarterly, Human Resource Management, and Sport Management Review, his work has also been featured in The Washington Post, TIME, and The Hindu Times. He has given data-driven keynote presentations and workshops in China, Korea, Spain, India, Panama, and in virtually every major city in the United States, routinely working with Fortune 500 companies. Shuck has been recognized as a Faculty Favorite at UofL in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and was named one of the Top Four Faculty Favorites in 2016. He is currently the 2021 Rechter Fellow in Positive Leadership and Editor of New Horizon’s in Adult Education and Human Resource Development.
