Brandon Rivera, MA, PHR

Brandon is the HR Director for Central Carolina Hospital, a Duke LifePoint Hospital, a 137-bed acute care facility with over 120 physicians and more than 600 employees. In this role, Brandon serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and other leadership team members, responsible for defining, developing, and implementing human resources initiatives, including the leadership and strategic direction for all areas of Human Resources: employee relations, talent acquisition and assessment, compensation management, performance management, training and leadership development, policy and procedures, and managing a team of HR professionals, the Education Department and Employee Health.Brandon previously served as the Assistant HR Director for Duke Raleigh Hospital, overseeing culture strategy & employee experience. He also worked for Galloway Ridge, a CCRC, in various HR capacities, leading employee engagement, rewards, recognition, and wellness programming. In addition, he worked at Prevention Partners, a non-profit leader in creating healthy places, training businesses and hospitals to utilize best practices to improve employee wellness efforts. He started his career at UNC Health Southeastern, creating a tailored wellness program that educated community residents in rural Lumberton, NC about behavior changes that will mitigate their risk of developing chronic diseases.Brandon holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Communication, with a concentration in Health Communication, and a Bachelor's degree in Communication, both from High Point University. Additionally, Brandon is a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and a Certified Worksite Wellness Program Manager (CWWPM).
