Brian Cassidy

Brian is currently engaged in contract procurement and management of maintenance services for housing stock, deep energy retrofitting and promoting awareness regarding the need to improve the building stock in order to meet Irelands commitments under the Paris Climate Change Accord.Brian is currently engaged in a number of Interreg Europe projects related to the European theme of shifting towards a low carbon economy. These include Intensify (Partner and Communications Manager), Empower (Active Stakeholder), Indu-Zero (Advisor), as well as the Southern Assemblies Regional Operational Program. Brian has worked at leadership and management level in engineering across a range of disciplines including property management maintenance refurbishment and retrofitting, transport fleet management; building services; water and waste water networks; marine engineering and electronics. Brian is an active member of Engineers Ireland volunteering in the Cork Region Senior Committee, and the Local Government Division. He is currently a member of the Institutions Executive Board and is current Chair of the Risk and Audit Committee. He has assisted the institution in making submissions to Government on a number of issues including the Vacant Refurbishment Bill 2017, the BCAR regulations, the Multi Unit Developments Bill. He has represented the Institution on the DHPLG unfinished housing estates advisory group and on the DHPLG's working group reporting on the cost of delivering residential houses.
