Brian Chase

I am an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP). My patient population is from ages 18 to 80+; in the acute care setting. I chose this career path, because it fits who I am; in that, the practice doctorate is a “call to action” (Nickitas & Feeg, 2011). The COVID 19 pandemic has, at its most basic promulgation, brought overwhelming stress to our healthcare systems, workers and patients. “The Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP) degree creates parity with other healthcare members, creating innovative leadership skills, and builds upon the basic NP competencies, (O’Sullivan et al., 2005). My twenty-five years plus of acute care experience in both civilian and military health care is in need, especially now. Leadership through experience, empathy and knowledge, that is what I bring to the table. I am the 1% who do not resist, but commit to giving 100% of myself. My calling is to utilize my practice doctorate to ameliorate the symptoms of illness or injury, holistically, through disruptive innovation and the eight dimensions of Patient-Centered Care. My aim as a board certified AGACNP is to bring to my patient population access to their overall healthcare needs. I am a leader in health care. I will use my, licensure, Accreditation, Certification, and Education (LACE) to foster collaboration through evidence-based practice solutions. Together we will lead American health care into the future as we battle and beat the SARS COV2 pandemic crisis; together, with honor, dedication and compassion.
